Sami Yamin
Sami is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 10 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He completed his Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2012.
He is a strong advocate of the scientist-practitioner and has authored a number of publications in the areas of schizophrenia, new technologies in mental health treatment and medication management in schizophrenia. He has also supervised a number of postgraduate research students.
He holds senior public appointments in psychiatry for Monash Health and has held a range of public roles including neurosciences, geriatric medicine, general medicine, acute rehabilitation and assessment of acquired brain injuries.
Sami has expertise in adult and aged neurology, neurodegenerative disorders, assessment and rehabilitation of acquired brain injury, and the cognitive manifestations of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan (schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety disorder, depression and personality disorders).
Sami has also had extensive medicolegal experience and has acted as an expert witness in a number of criminal matters as well authoring numerous reports for the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal assessing individual’s ability to lifestyle, medical, financial and testamentary capacity.
