Kirsty Brislane

Registered Psychologist

As a Registered Psychologist, I have worked throughout Victoria in various counselling roles since 2001. Since 2006 I have been based in the Geelong and Surf Coast region. I have experience throughout public and private mental health settings, primarily working with individuals, as well as conducting group sessions. I am currently practicing at Growth Psychology Practice in Geelong. As a sport enthusiast, I am thrilled to be a presenter for the AFL Players Association ‘Tackle Your Feelings’ program, working within local football and netball clubs to provide mental health education and support.

My skills and interest include working with people to improve pain management, chronic illness, sport performance, rehabilitation, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. I utilise evidence-based approaches to treatment and have had additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Pain Management, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Illicit Drugs in Sport. I am a current Member of the Australian Pain Society and Australian Psychological Society. I have an interest in the relationship between physical health, mental health, and performance, and enjoy working collaboratively with clients to overcome barriers to achieving their goals.

Outside of work I enjoy watching my children flourish in their chosen sporting pursuits as well as staying active myself through walking, running and cycling throughout our beautiful Geelong region.
