Kirsty Brislane

Registered Psychologist

I’m a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals across regional Victoria. Since 2006, I’ve been fortunate to call the beautiful Geelong and Surf Coast region home, working across both public and private mental health settings. My practice primarily focuses on individual therapy, and I also have experience facilitating group programs.

Currently, I work at Growth Psychology Practice in Geelong, where I support clients in navigating a wide range of challenges—from managing chronic pain and enhancing mental wellbeing to improving performance in sport and life. I’m also proud to be a presenter for the AFL Players Association’s ‘Tackle Your Feelings’ program, where I combine my passion for sport and mental health by delivering education and support to local football and netball clubs.

Areas of support include:

  • Pain management and chronic illness
  • Sports performance and rehabilitation
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Substance use
  • Trauma
  • Life transitions and wellbeing

I tailor therapy to each individual using a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ITP). I’ve also completed additional training in pain management and the impact of illicit drugs in sport.

I’m a proud member of both the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Pain Society, and I’m passionate about the connection between physical and mental health.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me cheering on my kids at their sporting events or enjoying the Geelong coastline—whether it’s walking, running, cycling, or simply soaking up the fresh air.
